At One Blue World, we see placemaking as more than shaping physical space – it is about shaping how people feel, connect and thrive within it.
Our approach blends blue health research with creative strategy, commercial insight and community voice to design places that restore, inspire and include. We work with nature, especially water, as a catalyst for wellbeing, resilience and identity.
Every project begins with listening – to the landscape, to local stories, and to the people who belong there. From there, we co-create practical, evidence-led solutions that are beautiful, sustainable and commercially viable.
The result is places that do more than function – they foster belonging, spark imagination and support healthier futures for both people and planet.
We’re working with Arenite, a development partner who shares our belief that places should lift human health and protect the natural world. Together, we’re shaping projects across the UK and further afield - from new settlements to community-led neighbourhoods, energy assets, commercial sites and working landscapes.
The Wave is our clearest proof that big, blue-health ideas can become real places that change lives. Founded by Nick and, it began as a bold vision to bring a ‘slice of the ocean’ inland, providing access to water, waves and surfing for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Abby continues to deliver the social impact programme to The Wave.
APG are our key project partners, strategising, masterplanning and designing our Blueprints™.
They were the principle designers for The Wave and we are working on a number of exciting projects in various stages of development.
